About Rancho La Bellota: Your Art Retreat Site!

A page from my water color art journal

Hi! My name is Caroline. Welcome to the Art Diaries.

For most of my adult life, art has been a huge part of it. Watercolor and now oil painting. Art journaling and collage are my favorite ways to wind down after a long day. Enjoy some quiet, creative time and recharge the battery.

My husband Raul, and I own Baja Rancho La Bellota, a family-owned guest/horse ranch. This is a 2,800-acre working ranch in the heart of Baja’s famous wine region, the Guadalupe Valley.

We’re nestled in a quiet canyon adjacent to the wine region. It’s here that people from all over the world have visited us for the past 30 years during their travels and planned excursions to slip away from city life and enjoy nature on a Baja working ranch.

Besides horseback riding, we host art retreats and workshops year-round.

Over the years, we have received visitors from all over the world. And I mean this literally. As far as Romania to right here, not 2 hours away in San Diego. We’ve made friends with those who come back year after year.

At our art retreats, some specific instructors schedule with us once to twice a year but we are always eager to meet new instructors who want to bring their students down to the ranch to experience Baja’s vibrant culture, history and delicious ranch style food.
